Cavalli Evening and visit from Harry and Lyndsey!

Last week was great!
On Wednesday we were invited to a Cavalli Wine evening in our favourite restaurant, Varq. We didn't really know all the details but we went anyway, me, Stephen and King.
Everyone was super dressed up and me that always is - couldn't be bothered that evening.. I should have!!!
It was the launch of Roberto Cavallis (the famous fashion designer!) son Tommaso Cavallis Wine in India.
So he was promoting it around India and he had come to Delhi.  We drank his wine and ate a really lovely dinner and at the end of the evening we bought a signed bottle and Tommaso himself came over to our table!

On Friday our friends from the UK , Lyndsey and Harry came over and visited!
While Stephen went to work I showed them around a few sights and told them the history. Not sure if they believed everything I said but they listened carefully!
When Stephen did come home we opened a bottle of Champagne and celebrated that it was Friday!
We had a great evening with lots of laughter and it is always so much fun seeing people that you know.
On Saturday we went to the old Delhi and we took them to Karims, which is a small and old place where all the locals eat. Great, tasty food!
Then we had a walk around the old parts and ended our walk with a rickshaw back to the Red Fort with a small photo session!
We wanted to show our guest the complete oposite to the Old town and Karims, so we took them to Varq ( I know second time for us this week, but the food it great!)
And I think they loved it as their plates were licked clean!
We then finished off the night in one of the bars in the hotel, which normally is very quiet but this evening there were a very enthusiastic DJ! We had a lovely time except for when we were going to pay and they tried to over charge us quite a bit!
But all in all a good night.
They left at 9 in the morning and we went back to bed for an other 4 hours sleep :)

How fast a year goes by!

We have just got back from our romantic weekend away in Chennai for our First Wedding Anniversary!
Oh how lovely it all was.
We got there on Saturday morning and got upgraded to the nicest rooms, we had a private garden with a hammock, two rocking chairs, two sun loungers and a table and chairs and best of all it lead straight out to the beach and the sea.
As it was our anniversary they gave us breakfast in the room which we enjoyed out in the sunshine. We also had a private dining experience out on the "watch tower" where we ate a three course meal with sparkly wine all by ourselves, it was nice, a bit windy maybe but nice :)

The staff even came to our room on the Sunday which was our anniversay and they had flowers (Stephen had organised a big bunch of Lilies for me !) a big cake, a gift and a card and they all stood there while we cut the cake and blew out the candles! Very cute!
They also arranged a rose bath for us (well I think it was mostly for me) which was nice as well.

We just enjoyed some time away and relaxed the whole weekend. Well I must say we relaxed and ate the whole weekend, oh my, how stuffed I feel! On the Saturday night we had Mediterranean food but they had to put my main course in a box because I couldn't finish half of it!

Before going home we had a massage and it is always funny to see Stephen wear those paper knickers that you get!

All in all it was a great holiday and I hope all our Anniversaries will be as good as this one !

Valentines.

Yesterday was lovely!
I was working from home... so went to the gym in the morning, then walked around the shopping centre and here in Delhi they are crazy for Valentines, so there is hearts and roses everywhere! Even photo opportunity places haha.

I bought Stephen a card with a monkey on and nothing else because it is our Anniversary on Sunday and we are celebrating Love then in Chennai on the beach :)
We had a nice meal with wine and cupcakes.

This week last year we were both very nervous ! We needed the visa to go to India and for me to get the Visa we needed to be married.
So as we had already planned our big white wedding in Sweden 2012, we started organising a very small one in the UK, me in a blue dress (that's why all my bridesmaids dresses are blue this time around) and only the parents and Stephens sister, husband and kids as guests.
The 7th of July 2012 are gonna be very different :)

Here are some pictures of the shopping centre!

Hearts everywhere

A nice place to have your picture taken?

Dress Making

This week I have been making a new dress to wear for our Anniversary that is coming up next weekend.
We are going down to Chennai and it is gonna be around 28 degrees. can't wait!

Here are a few pictures of the dress,  I also added a dress I made for when we went to Dubai, I need to take it in at the sides because it is too big now (diet must be going well) but you'll get the idea!

Pattern made and ready to be pinned on the fabric.

I have no dummy so I had to keep trying  it on to make sure it was ok. This is the first try after sewing it together.

I thought this was the way I wanted it but changed my mind after doing the hem.

Finished!

The dress for Dubai.

Time for tea!

This weekend we haven't done a lot!
We were supposed to go to one of the wild life sanctuary's 40 min from Delhi, so we put on our "cool" wildlife watching gear and got into our car.
But after an hours drive and we were nearly there our driver asked for directions and a police man said we had to cross a border into an other state witch meant that he needed to have paid the tax for that before we drove! And we didn't know about it so couldn't tell him!
So no wildlife for us, but we were close to Qutub Minar , so stopped there and had about half an hour walk.
We then walked into a art gallery to see if they had paintings from a artist we quite like, but they didn't, so we went home!
not a great day, but we had a nice dinner and some wine in the evening.

Today Sunday we haven't done much, just relaxed in the sun and in the afternoon/evening we went for high tea at the Taj Mahal Hotel.
Lovely! Wow so many cakes, sandwiches and scones :) We took the chocolate option and had a cup of lovely dark hot chocolate as well. So full now!
But it was good!

Here are some pictures from yesterday and today!
