Christmas party in Jaipur.

The 2nd-4th of December we went to Jaipur for Stephens Christmas party. The "whole" office went plus me, they are 4 people in their office.
So it is December and we where laying around the pool sunbathing in the mornings:) have never done that in December before and it is defenetlly worth it !
Me and Stephen took the flight there on Friday afternoon, it is only a 40minutes long flight so we thought why not. While the rest of his office took the train on Saturday morning, 5 hours it took them!

So we spent Saturday morning around the pool, then visiting some sights, we saw the monkey temple first which was very cool! I just said to Stephen the other day that I hadn't seen that many monkeys actually, but in the temple there where hundreds! It was really nice, no tourists and just really quiet, except for the occasional fight between the black and the brown monkeys!
As we have been to Jaipur before we were just doing things that we didn't have time to do last time.
So we went up to the top of a hill and saw the Jaigarh and Nahargarh fort's which were next to each other.
Again monkeys everywhere and one even stole an ice cream from a lady then jumped up in the tree! ha ha.

We had a room with a private garden so in the evening we sat out there drinking wine and chatting away, really lovely and romantic until Stephens work friends came along!
But that was OK, it was the company that payed for it I guess. So after that we went for a lovely meal in the Indian restaurant in the hotel with some more wine.

Sunday morning we stayed around the pool again and then we all checked out and went to the Rambagh Palace for some lunch, oh how lovely that was! We were seated outside in the sunshine on the grass and it was perfect!
Then our flight left at 4.45pm and we got home at about 7pm, while the boys took the train and got home at about 12!

It was a great Christmas party! Wouldn't mind staying around the pool every December!

Next weekend is Amritsar up in the mountains.... yes, it is gonna be cold.

Weekend in Dubai without a camera!

So we went to Dubai last Thursday evening and stayed until Saturday night, crawled into our bed in India at 4am!
We had a really good time! All our friends from various places around the world where there! Even a new little addition was there, so we all had some babytime passing her around, but she didn't cry ones! Amazing!

We had rented a huge apartment on the 48th (!) floor near the palm in Dubai. It had 4 big bedrooms so most of us stayed in there.
First evening we all stayed around our apartment, drinking, talking and eating pizza. It was really nice to see everyone again just to catch up from last time.
I wouldn't say we drank too much but there where even some up-side-down drinking going on! (pictures to come ) so maybe we did have more than we thought!
Everone felt really bad the next morning but we had lovely breakfast and then we all went to one of the biggest brunches around Delhi, we had so much food!!! And more drinks.. It is basecly one huge room filled with all kinds of food and any drink you would ever wanted, they even had Swedish Cider! They also had champagne, wine, jeager bombs (!) christmas whiskey(?) pineapple and coconut drinks and whatever else you would want :)
We spent around 5 hours at the table!
We then went to a few different bars and ended up in bed around 3am.

On the Saturday we all went to the pool but it was so windy and cold we ended up going back inside.
Me and Stephen went to try his ring on instead at Cartiers and he has now decided what he wants! Woho!
After that went to one of the girls dad's house for a lovely BBQ before it was time for some of us to head to the airport and go home :(

It was a lovely long weekend and I can't wait to see them all again!

The big bad thing about this weekend was that I forgot my cameras!!!! I didn't even think about it until we came to the airport and I bumped into a man with a camera, at this point it was too late to get my ones!!!

So I am hoping Divashni will send me some of hers! :)

We have now booked our trip home to U.K over Christmas and are leaving Delhi the 23rd, then we are going to Sweden the 28th-31st, Celebrate New Year in London the 31st and then back to Delhi the 8th!
Yes, can't wait!!!

Weekend at home.

This weekend we have actually been at home alone in Delhi for the whole weekend! We haven't done that since September! Crazy!

We are now gonna be away for the next three weekends! After that we have only one more weekend here in Delhi before we go home to the U.K to celebrate Christmas :) 

So on Saturday we went to Khan market and had Stevie measured up for some new work shirts and then bought him a new toy, a smoothie maker. We use to have one, a smaller version but we broke it! So we are very happy to have a new one as the fruits here are amazing!

For me we bought two new vases to have my flowers in.

Then we went down to the DLF Emporium for some clothes shopping as it is getting colder! People might not think so but it is cold in the mornings and the evenings I even had a jacket on the other evening! So I bought 4 jumpers and Stephen bought new shoes and then a T-shirt (!) don't know how that is gonna keep him warm!

We finished off with a milkshake each and some samosas and Scones:)  Great Saturday!

For Sunday we just relaxed.

We went to the market and bought food, veggies and fruit and then enjoyed the day. I have been sewing a bit,  sunbathed a bit and Stevie has tried his smoothie maker!

Cochin!

We went down to Cochin in Kerala with our friends Neil and Heather on Saturday. We spent one night in the Taj hotel, then on the Sunday morning we had organized to go around the backwaters on a houseboat for a day and one night. 

The boat was really nice, the surroundings were lovely but the staff on the boat was not great! We had to ask for  everything! Even water! We had read when we booked the boat that we would get lots of lovely, great food, snacks etc, but we first of all had to ask for lunch, when it got there it was ok but then we didn't get anything else until dinner at 8 where we had to pay for our won fish and prawns and there where only potatoes and watered down lentils for vegetarians ( me ) to eat!  very disappointing!

In the morning at 3 am, me and Stephen got woken up by a rooster who sang every 10 seconds! until 4 when the boats outside started up very noisily, we finally got some sleep at 5.30 and then the staff on the boat started to be very load and noisy in the kitchen at 6, they where shouting at each other and banging around , so we got up and waited for breakfast..... a few cold slices of toast and an omelette!

All of us gave them a very bad reviews and no tip.

And we are hoping to get some money back from the agency who recommended them and made the booking! 

We then stayed a day at the Le Meridian by the pool, that was great!

Anyhow it was nice to have friends here and we showed them Delhi! What we normally do in a month we did in one day! so much to see and do! 

We ended last night (their last evening) with lovely food and laughing at our pictures!
