Lucknow, what a different a day makes.

We just got back from Lucknow, we left on Friday and spent Saturday- Monday in a small city.
It didn't start very good as our room smelled badly of damp, and the bed was feeling wet. So we went down and asked for another room. We got another room on the other side of the hotel, didn't smell that bad, but it had a view of a building site, not the beautiful pool and garden!
So we slept in that room and in the morning we again asked to have a new room, one that didn't smell and had a good view, we did manage to get one, but there was still was something weird because all out clothes and the floor got damp! But at least it didn't smell! The rest of the hotel was beautiful!
On Saturday it was a beautiful sunny day, so we stayed around the pool.  No one here uses the pools so we had it all to ourselves! Lovely, but we did manage to burn quite badly!!
In the evening we went down to one of the restaurants in the hotel and the chef made us something that wasn't in the menu. We got treated like celebrities all weekend!
On the Sunday we had booked a guide to take us around town and show us all the attractions, everything that was important to see. It rained a little to start with so we put on jackets and asked for umbrellas, at the end of our tour we were soaked! I have never seen rain like that before! At one point it was up past our ankles when we walked around! The day after it said in the newspapers that it hasn't rained that much in 10 years! It rained about 100mm in 3 hours- that's when we were out!
In the evening we went to the same restaurant, we had a bottle of wine and has a nice meal.
On Monday it rained on and off all day, so we managed a walk in the gardens but that was it. Flew home to Delhi in the afternoon and was hoping that our apartment wasn't flooded! It wasn't!

We were suppose to go to Shimla next weekend but our flight has been cancelled! So we are sightseeing in Delhi!
